Launched as part of Nike’s brand new Leather Tech Pack, the Big Swoosh have revealed an a first ever leather version of their speed silo the Mercurial Superfly.
With Alexis Sanchez the player to headline this new range, the all new Mercurial Superfly edition features a K-leather upper for the first time in the boot’s history. Originally launched prior to the 2014 World Cup we have seen a vast collection of colourways launched for the Mercurial Superfly with the Lightning Storm edition being the most recent.
In terms of design the new Mercurial Superfly boasts the same Hyper Pink colour seen on the Lightning Storm and Silver Storm Superflys while a deluge of black is incorporated for a modern and classic colourway in one.
Tech specs wise a thin layer of K-Leather has been added to the striking region of the boot which will provide a much more natural touch to the ball as well as protecting your feet a bit more. I can see this added leather being a really popular addition to the Mercurial Superfly because he FlyKnit upper was too thin for most professionals.
Other technologies include the FlyKnit upper material which is again used throughout the entirety of this boot while the Dyanmic Fit Collar is designed to lock down your foot into the shoe for enhanced acceleration and traction. A carbon fibre sole offers explosive traction and acceleration while the bladed configuration enhances streamline speed.
